Rev 3's melting pot of musical influences which span over many genres and decades of music undoubtedly contribute to their passionate, rich and unique style.
Josh Mussetter - Bass
Josh has always had a thing for music even though he wasn’t always good at it. Much to his parent’s financial frustration, he was unable to master classical guitar as a kid. In 5th grade he joined the concert band playing trumpet and, later, the baritone. While in high school, he became addicted to the “show” aspect of performing and chose to focus on marching band.
After high school, his love of music had to be satisfied by radio stations, an iPod and live shows. While you’ll find everything from metal and screamo to big band and classical to rap on his iPod; Korn, Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold occupied the tops spots because of their dirty, modern sounds with Iron Maiden and Rob Zombie because of their theatrical aspects. Rounding out Josh’s top ten you’ll find bands like The Doors, Queen, Tool, Godsmack and Black Sabbath.
Though Josh always secretly desired to be in a rock band it wasn't until 2007, when a co-worker talked him into picking up the bass so they could jam, that he got the opportunity. He spent the next few years teaching himself the intricacies of the bass via the internet and YouTube. Along the way, he met up with some like-minded musicians and, along with Lee and Ty, formed what would eventually become Rev 3.
Josh’s strong focus on the “show” and his drive to make each of Rev 3’s performances as visually fun as they are sonically lends an energy to Rev 3 that comes across in their music and is hard to match. Well, at least that's the only explanation for the kilt that we can come up with.
Ty Stickle - Drums
Ty started playing around with the drums in late 2007 due to a pre-midlife crisis. That, and he wasn’t really making enough money as a model. His musical influences stem mostly from 80's hardcore punk such as Minor Threat, Circle Jerks, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, etc. Ty “obviously” [his own word] has no prior drum experience other than Rev 3.
